# Advanced theme settings in Beyond

**Edit theme** → **Theme settings** → **Advanced**.

## SEO (Beyond)

- **Header logo tag**: controls whether the logo renders as an `<h1>`. **Homepage H1 only** (the default), **Every page H1**, or **Never H1**. When the logo is not the H1, it renders as an `<h2>` instead.

Each page should have exactly one `<h1>`. If a template already has its own H1 (for example a product title or blog post title), leave this on **Homepage H1 only** so you do not end up with two.

## Custom code (Beyond)

- **HTML/Liquid for `<head>` tag**: code placed at the bottom of the `<head>` tag on every page except checkout. Use it for a verification meta tag, a tracking snippet, or similar site-wide code an app does not already add as an embed.

## Troubleshooting (Beyond)

- **Two H1s on one page**: **Header logo tag** is set to **Every page H1** on a template that already has its own H1. Switch it to **Homepage H1 only**.
- **Code pasted here is not showing on checkout**: expected, this field never reaches checkout.
- **An app asked me to paste code in the head, but it also has an app embed**: use the app embed instead. See [Using apps with your theme](https://support.troopthemes.com/guide/using-apps-with-themes/); it usually survives updates better than pasted code.
